Crosslight Advice turns 15!

Crosslight Advice opened its doors on 8th November 2009, with the aim of restoring dignity and renewing hope to the residents of South Kensington. From providing debt advice in one location, Crosslight Advice now operates a variety of services out of 30+ locations and has impacted over 23,000 people. Fifteen years later, as we reflect on our work and its impact over the years, we hope that you can celebrate with us the many individuals and families who have been touched by our work.

words from our Founder & Chief Exec, Bruce Connell

I can scarcely believe that it has been 15 years since Crosslight first opened its doors. Since then there have of course been a few ups and downs (a global pandemic was a particularly left-field surprise). But what has been most remarkable, and most humbling, has been the hundreds of people that have joined us at various stages along our journey, bringing their love, compassion, and skills to support those in our communities that have been facing difficulty. I often speak of Crosslight being a family, and whilst no family is ever perfect, when it works best a family is a place where you can feel supported, accepted and loved. I hope that this may be Crosslight’s defining characteristic, for our team and our clients alike, at this anniversary time, and for the next 15 years and beyond.

Over the last 15 years, we have impacted the lives of thousands of people and some of our clients have kindly shared their experience. Dealing with debt and financial worries can be all-consuming, impacting every aspect of someone’s life. At Crosslight, we aim to restore dignity and renew hope to our clients by journeying with them for however long they need us to.

We have asked some of our team members, partner organisations, referrers and supporters of Crosslight to share their stories of the charity over the years. We are so grateful and proud of the relationships we have formed during the last 15 years, and we look forward to working with many more passionate and caring people in the future.

Wear your badge with pride!

Over the coming days and weeks, you may be receiving a Crosslight Advice Anniversary badge in the post (alongside a very special card). We would love to see as many of our supporters as possible wear their badge, tag us in photos and get conversations going about Crosslight Advice and the work that we do.

If you would like to receive a badge, then please get in touch with Laura, our Fundraising and Engagement Lead, by clicking here.

How could you support Crosslight Advice during the next 15 years?

A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of Crosslight’s journey so far. And whilst we take time to celebrate all that has come before, we are also aware of what we still want to do – to reach more people, transform more lives, and see many more people reach their full potential; and for that, we ask for your continuing support.
