Bruce Connell - Chief Executive

Bruce is the founder and Chief Executive of Crosslight Advice. A former banker, Bruce has worked in London, Munich and Edinburgh, latterly as Head of Financial Institutions in the UK for German Bank BayernLB, leaving in 2009 to set up Crosslight. Bruce is the author of the Money Course and is married with two daughters.

CHAIR OF TRUSTEES

FRANCIS ELLISON

Francis has worked all his career in finance in the City of London, as a fund manager and subsequently in varying roles in investment management. Since 2007 he has worked as a client portfolio manager for Columbia Threadneedle Investment, representing their European equity capabilities to clients throughout the world. Francis also sits on the board of our partner charity St Paul’s Money Advice Centre.


TREASURER

MARK FARRAR

Mark trained as a Chartered Accountant, having started his career at Ernst & Young before moving into various finance roles. Mark spent time as Head of Finance for the Royal Horticultural Society, and as a senior member of the finance team at Aviva and the Pension Insurance Corporation plc. Mark is also treasurer of West Kent YMCA and a trustee of Thames Gateway YMCA.

PAUL CROUCH

Paul is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Management Accountant. He was previously the Commercial Director for BT’s Network Assets (which provide all the Mobile, Broadband, & TV services) and is currently Director of Global Partnerships at DXC Technology. Paul is a qualified debt adviser and volunteers at our Tonbridge Branch. Paul also sits on the board of our partner charity West Kent Debt Advice.

SUZANNE DAY

Suzanne leads the social transformation team at Holy Trinity Brompton Church in London, which supports those on the margins of society, providing community and support for women, prison leavers, homeless, refugees and asylum-seekers. She is a civil engineer by training (licensed in USA), with experience working in water and environmental engineering for both the public and private sector. She has previously worked in international development and humanitarian design, particularly for projects in Africa and Latin America, as well as social outreach in London.

NICK LINES

Nick’s career was in the London bond markets, where he worked as a gilt broker, investment banker and investment manager, latterly in a consultant capacity. He has previously served on various charitable trusts and on committees making charitable grants. Currently he is a trustee of a grant making charity and on the board of a religious order. Nick also sits on the board of our partner charity Chiswick Money Advice Centre.

SEONAID MACKENZIE

Seonaid Mackenzie is the founder of Sturgeon Ventures LLP, a pioneering regulatory incubator and alternative investment fund manager. Seonaid has had a long career in the City with positions including stockbroker, fund manager, and operator of UK funds; fund raising for private companies and funds; and multiple non-executive roles in financial service firms and SMEs.

JEAN MOORHOUSE

Jean has worked in a number of senior regulatory and compliance roles within the financial service sector including the Bank of England and it’s regulatory successors the FSA and finally the PRA, with compliance responsibility for a wide range of financial institutions.
