GIVE A NEW LEASE OF LIFE WITH A DEBT ADVICE APPOINTMENT

Kyle shares what difference his Debt Adviser made to his circumstances and life.

Crosslight has been absolutely fantastic. My adviser has been my confidant and my counsellor to be honest. Until he came along, I felt so much on my own. He was the first point of contact where I felt there was a friendly voice at the end of the phone that I could trust and that did help us out tremendously. He knows this because I tell him all the time, he’s such a star. He’s got a way about him where nothing is ever too much trouble and he’s always got a listening ear. He was also so diplomatic about everything.

At my first appointment my adviser wanted to help by looking at my finances, which was a huge burden and so we looked at income and expenditure. Once I got my Universal Credit through, he was able to work with it and put forward a payment plan. He just prioritised things that needed to be done. He contacted people I owed money to and explained to them the situation I was in. He helped give me breathing space. It was one less thing to think about, a BIG one less thing to think about. Without money, you’re limited. I still had so many other bills to pay too. He recently put through a Debt Relief Order for me, and it was accepted. It happened last month, and it is amazing. 

Also, I’m not in the best of health, so I’m limited in what jobs I can do. This has meant I’ve also received support from the Benefits Adviser [at Crosslight], on completing and sending a PIP application. The application is so difficult, so it was great to have support on this. It took 2 hours just to complete the form and I had such a headache afterwards. I couldn’t have done it without her. 

I cannot thank Crosslight enough and out of all the organisations I know about and have been involved with, I think Crosslight supersedes all of them.
