Our specially trained Debt Relief Order (DRO) intermediaries are on hand to guide individuals through the DRO process over several appointments and will lead on completing an application. Alessandro explains why a DRO was the right option for him when it came to his debts.

At my first appointment I met my debt adviser, who I got on really well with. He had read my case file before our meeting and had some good options for me, including a Debt Relief Order (DRO). After speaking about a DRO and my adviser explaining things to me, I went away to think about my options. My adviser asked if I was happy to go ahead with it, and I was happy to as long as I qualified for one. It was great because I’d already looked into DROs and it was what I had decided I wanted to do, which is why I was put off the other companies and organisations who said this wasn’t an option for me and just pushed an IVA. 

When you go into your first appointment, you are really up against it and at the end of your tether with it all, and so it’s amazing to then find out that there is something you can do to help the situation. It only took 24 hours for my DRO application to be approved, which was incredible. I got the email and it felt like a weight had been lifted off my body when I read it.
